Too much stuff going on right now. I've been searching for and interviewing a for a new job since my current position will likely be eliminated at some point. Given all that's occurred, it's no longer so much a matter of if, but of when.

It doesn't make matters any simpler that we're in the process of buying a new home and trying to sell our current home. It seems all the more imperative for me to find a new job--a stable job--now because of the new home. If I'm laid off this year or even next, we'll be placed in a difficult situation to say the least.

I think I've spent most of the last two weeks on the phone with mortgage lenders, the builder, the builder's interior designer, bank loan officer, etc. Then just before we're going to have an open house, I find a leaky pipe that has to be fixed. Meanwhile, the city sewer office decides to choose this week to dig up yards and driveways on our street to install drainage pipes.

Can it get any worse?
